With experience as varied as his musical tastes, Ben Runnels' unique style is a pure reflection of his passion for the culture that surrounds, creates, and arises from music. Always the musician (even getting in trouble for making wierd mouth sounds during elementary school), working with sound in every context has been the staple by which Ben has thrived. After working for professional radio stations for four and a half years, building his knowledge in sound production, demographics, and even hosting a country morning show for a year, Ben settled into Falmouth, Massachusetts to build a studio and bring some energy to the long, lonely winters in bars and clubs across Cape Cod. Now located in California's Bay Area, Ben is available for booking as a solo acoustic act - using loop technology and dreamy effects to transform the atmosphere of your venue or home - and as a DJ - specializing in house, techno, 80s dance, classic and nu-disco, and chillwave mixes.

Ben's original music defies categorization, and so the title "Enlightened Pop" seems to fit well, explaining the spiritual and exploratory nature of his music and lyrics, while still retaining the accessibility and relatability of popular form. His self-produced recordings are dreamy and solid, with a unique groove and precision playing.
